| General | Franklin County Jail is a 72 hour holding facility. Persons arrested in Franklin County for crimes in Franklin County District or Superior Courts will booked at Franklin County Jail and generally transported to Somerset County Jail for holding and to serve their sentence.. |
Allowable Property (Pre-Sentenced) |
Personal property of persons sent from Franklin to Somerset jail that are awaiting sentencing will generally be held at Franklin County Jail. If a person, awaiting trial/sentencing, from Franklin at Somerset makes bail at Somerset: the person posting bail should call Franklin County Jail, 778-3032, to arrange to pick-up the inmate's property prior to bringing the bail to Somerset County Jail or bring clothing for the inmate to be released in. |
Allowable Property (Sentenced) |
Once a person is sentenced they and their property will be transported to Somerset County Jail (see What to Expect in Jail page). |
| Bail | Persons can make bail at the facility that they are at i.e. if at Franklin then Franklin, if at Somerset then Somerset. Individuals making bail will be released from the facility that they are at. |
| Release | Inmates being released after serving their sentence will be released generally from Somerset County Jail and need to make arrangements to be picked up at Somerset County Jail. Relases are generally at 8:00 am unless otherwise specified by the court. |
| Due Ins | Persons DUE IN to serve their Franklin County sentence will report to Franklin County Jail (see location map) |
